About Asher House Austin
Asher House Austin is located two blocks north of the University of Texas in quaint Hemphill Park, a long established residential neighborhood. Many houses in the area were built by UT faculty members. Hemphill Park continues to be a popular location.

The University of Texas is home to some of the top programs in the country in the College of Law, the College of Engineering, and the College of Communication as well as several others.

Other schools in the area include Austin Community College, Southwestern University in Georgetown, and St. Edwards University.

Our house is a classic older home with high ceilings and wooden floors and large old windows. We have four large bedrooms upstairs and two shared bathrooms. Downstairs there is a manager's office/bedroom suite, kitchen, dinning room, and living room. We also have a small outer building lovingly referred to as the Annex, which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own kitchen.

There is a well-supported Christian Science Organization on campus, and First Church Austin is conveniently located nearby.

Austin is well equipped for biking enthusiasts. The streets have bicycle lanes, and the local buses have racks to carry your bike if you want to take it with you across town. There are fabulous hike and bike trails for mountain biking along the green belts of Barton Creek and other parks in town.

Austin is well known for its concern for the environment. Great protection is afforded to its natural spring fed pools, the most renown of which is Barton Springs, a quarter of a mile naturally occurring spring fed pool.

If you are interested in attending the University of Texas, or any other college or degree program in Austin, please call us at (512) 474-7727 and arrange to visit. If we have an open room, you will be more than welcome to join us for dinner and spend the night.
