About
Asher Boston
Asher
House Boston consists of two two-bedroom apartments, one for men and one for women,
on a clean and quiet street directly across the street from The Mary Baker Eddy Library. We have space for four women in one
apartment, and four men in the other apartment. Each bedroom is
equipped with bunk beds and two dressers. We have a dine-in kitchen,
a comfortable living room, and one full bathroom in each unit. Space
is rather limited, so we encourage residents not to bring excessive
belongings. Our kitchen is well stocked with supplies, including
a microwave, and in the living room we have a TV, VCR, Wireless
Broadband, and other standard furniture items.
Rent should
be paid by the 1st of each month to the house manager. This rate
includes all utilities except for long distance phone service. Residents
should use their cell phone, a calling card, or pre-paid phone card for long distance
calls.

Resident
Responsibilities
The
Asher House is a special environment which is like a home away from
home, and has an atmosphere conducive to spiritual growth. Residents
are expected to be active Christian Scientists who are willing to
positively contribute to the household and the church community.
We request that all residents participate in a metaphysical meeting
each month in which we discuss readings and share testimonies of
gratitude and healing. We live by the Matthew Code and the common
courtesy of respecting our fellow housemates. We share the cleaning
duties of the bathroom, kitchen, and trash on a rotating schedule.
Due to our small size, it is also important that we keep our personal
belongings tidy and keep our noise level to a minimum late in the
evening and early in the morning. Guests are welcome before midnight
on weeknights and 2 A.M. on weekend nights. Overnight visitors are
welcome if room in the appropriate apartment is available.
Please feel
free to call the house manager at the above listed number for more
information. If you call in advance, you are more than welcome to
come and visit the house!
