Where are we?

Asher House DC is located at 1634 19th Street, NW (between Q and R streets).
It's a row house with an historic facade located near Dupont Circle. We are very close to public transportation. The Dupont Circle Metro Station on the Red Line is just a few minutes walk from Asher DC's front door, as is the city bus line on Connecticut Avenue.

This enables residents to easily commute to any location in town, including the White House, the Mall, the Smithsonian, Capitol Hill, and other federal government offices. The Metro system also provides access to Arlington and Alexandria, VA.

We are within walking distance of Georgetown, Embassy Row and the National Zoo. We are about equidistant from First Church, DC, at 18th and Columbia, and Third Church, DC, at 16th and Eye Street.

Asher DC is air-conditioned and has two washers and two dryers. Our building also has a roof garden/deck with views of the District.

For an application, please call or email our House Manager.

A previous DC resident writes:

My Asher experience proved unique in the exceptional people I met throughout. The two people who joined me as roommates during my stay also enriched my time here. They were invaluable in my efforts to explore the Mid-Atlantic, and both became friends.

Finally, the people of Asher House were sources of support and engagement in my practice of Christian Science. The apartment is a small community in which Christian Science plays a vital role, and I was thankful for it. Indeed, the Asher community quickly brought me in touch with a much larger community of Christian Scientists in Washington."
